Bend, Oregon - 4th Annual Trans-Am Family Reunion
by Vic Villhard

Tons of Fun in Oregon

Well, I think by now it's fair to say
That by the end of our seventh day
We've all had tons of fun in the sun
While riding our tandems here in Oregon.

We enjoyed our downhill ride on the ski lift in the dark And couldn't
help admiring the astounding Smith Rock State Park But by now our buns
are just about done After riding our tandems here in Oregon!

We've seen OB-Wan and Redmond and a tandem rally, too Alfalfa, alpacas,
Sisters and some Crooked River views, Yellow and violet flowers- -OK,
maybe some were blue-- But it's tough to beat going three nights in a
row having tasty local bar-be-cue!

Before we even got here, more than a few of us knew That, by far, the
most remarkable thing we were about to do Was to take a tandem ride on
the rim of Crater Lake ...
But who would have thought that 33-miles would be anything but a piece
of cake?

With Mount Scott and Hillman Peak in the deep reflecting hue, Wizard
Island, the Phantom Ship and the superlative shades of blue- The 6,000
feet of climbing was the only part we'd rue- And the beauty of the
grandest views made us all scream out "WOO-HOO"!!

After we took in the expansive scenes way out toward Tumalo, While the
Rim Drive grades declined and led us way too low We'd brake and holler
"whoa" and then look up and say "oh no"
And think of Jimmy singing "I don't know where I'm-a-gonna go when the
volcano blow!"

So now that these words have all been penned And our fourth Trans-Am
reunion trip is drawing to its end No matter where else our tandem trips
may tend to wend We'll fondly recall our time here in fantastic
"Farewell Bend."

Composed on the 5th of July, 2005 to express our kindest thanks and
gratitude to Maryann and Don and Allan and Mabel for all the hours of
loving labor you put into making our "family" vacation such a wonderful
time!!
With love from your whole tandem family
