| Redstone is a unique coal mining village about 17 miles south of Carbondale off CO Highway 133. Today we will ride to Redstone for brunch or lunch in Redstone. The round trip is about 38 miles from Carbondale to Hayes Falls. Drive south on CO Hwy 82 towards Aspen and turn right on CO 133 at Carbondale. Park at the City Market at the southwest corner of CO 133 & Main Street. Highway 133 is a steady gradual climb of 1.5 to 2 percent from Carbondale to a few miles beyond Redstone. The route sheet has you turning onto Redstone Blvd at mile 15. If you intend to ride to Hayes Falls, then stay on the highway 4 more miles to the falls. Take note of the Coke Ovens on your right on the way to the falls this is where you will turn right on your return to visit Redstone. The Redstone Inn serves a wonderful Sunday Brunch until 1:00pm. Make sure you ride through the Village it is a really neat place. Plan to depart Glenwood Springs at 9:00AM to meet up at the City Market around 9:20AM. | ||||
