| Plan to depart Glenwood Springs at 8:30AM for the drive to Carbondale. Drive south on CO 82 towards Aspen and turn right on CO 133 to the City Market in Carbondale. Today's route follows the Roaring Fork River from Carbondale to Basalt on lightly traveled county roads. The route is gradually uphill to Basalt. From Basalt we will ride on Frying Pan Road along the Frying Pan River as many miles as you like. The first 14 miles is a gradual uphill grade final 3 miles to the reservoir is steeper but the views are worth it. For the more adventurous the paved road continues on another 15 miles before turning to dirt. This is a gorgeous ride. | ||||||
