HAPPY 4th of JULY: Today is TransAm Jersey Day.
Plan to depart Glenwood Springs by 8:30AM for the drive to Basalt. Drive
south on CO Hwy 82 towards Aspen. Turn left on Two Rivers River at traffic
into Basalt approximately 25 miles. Proceed towards town and turn left on
Midland at Y just before downtown. You can park on the left across from the
Library. The ride will start from this parking area. Today's ride has us
exploring the upper regions of the Roaring Fork River to the northwest edge
of Aspen. Much of today's ride is river side. Woody Creek Tavern is a great
place for lunch. It is also the recommended turn around point for those
wanting a shorter ride. |

onto Cemetery Lane Bike Path. Stay on Bike Path even though it crosses
several driveways. The paved bike path ends at paved trailhead and hard
packed dirt bike path continues along the river. We recommend that you ride
the dirt bike path it is very ride able on a road bike. The Smith's &
Johnson's rode it in June. You can take the road which entails some good
climbing. If you take the road, you will miss a gorgeous waterfall. |
